The Sherpa N956 tracked stairlifts are suitable for non-ambulatory subjects who need to overcome flights of stairs in buildings not equipped with suitable equipment; they are therefore suitable for overcoming architectural barriers.
They consist of a metal structure that moves on rubber tracks, equipped with a tiller for driving and anchoring a wide range of wheelchairs. The control and emergency buttons are ergonomically arranged on the tiller. The movement is entrusted to an electric motor managed by an electronic control unit that allows soft starts and stops and provides a high level of ride comfort.
The power supply is battery-powered and the residual charge is monitored on the control panel. The crawler tracks allow forward and reverse maneuvers, while a pair of maneuvering wheels intervene in changes of direction, which extend automatically. The machines are easily transportable because the release of the drawbar reduces their size and weight, making them easier to maneuver. The movement of the machine body is implemented through a button located on the control panel on the back.
The load-bearing frame of the structures is made of electro-welded steel and treated with a cataphoresis process, while the drawbars are made of chrome-plated steel tube trellises. The shock-resistant thermoformed polystyrene covers finish the products with a refined and modern design. The extremely low height of the machines makes it easier to insert various types of wheelchairs.
