SIMRAD AP44 Autopilot that combines Continuum steering technology with a color display, intuitive controls with knob and buttons and a modern design glass dashboard. By connecting the chartplotter you can add waypoints or a navigation route and enjoy full autopilot control from compatible SIMRAD displays. Intuitive interface with just four buttons and a knob for command entry. The rotary control allows you to make small and large changes in course with speed and precision and easily select options from the on-screen menu without having to repeatedly press buttons. No Drift mode combines GPS navigation with self-steering, using the position of the vessel to counterbalance the action of wind and current. By doing so, it allows you to maintain an accurate heading over the ground by following your current destination, without the need to manually set a waypoint or route. To enable this useful feature you need to connect the AP44 autopilot controller to a GPS receiver connected to the NMEA 2000® network or a compatible SIMRAD chartplotter. The AP44 autopilot controller connects to a compatible echo sounder for DCT steering. In this mode, the AP44 control maintains a constant depth under the boat - ideal for following bottom contours when fishing or cruising, without having to set up a complex route with several waypoints. The AP44 autopilot controller includes auto-tuning to ensure optimum self-steering performance – just follow a simple on-screen commissioning procedure including dockside setup and sea trial. The SIMRAD Precision-9 solid-state compass features self-calibration, further simplifying autopilot setup and ensuring the best possible accuracy. Display Resolution 320 x 240 (H x W).
