National Geographic EQ 76/700 is a telescope with a reflection optical system, which uses the property of reflecting the light of mirrors. These mirrors are curved, so that light converges at a point called the focus. The 76 mm diameter primary mirror is already able to show numerous craters on the lunar surface and also some details on the main planets.

The equatorial system allows you to move the telescope on the axis parallel to that of rotation of the Earth and on the perpendicular axis, which lies on the plane of the celestial equator. Once stationary, it allows for greater precision in tracking celestial objects.

Thanks to the supplied accessories, it proves to be a very versatile tool and adapted to dissemination. Included are the 5×24 finder scope for easy locating and centering celestial objects, 3 eyepieces at 9mm, 12.5mm and 25mm, 3x Barlow lens for even more magnification, erect image with multiplication 1.5x and the lunar filter to reduce the luminous intensity of the telescope, essential for a clearer vision of luminous subjects such as the moon, Venus and Jupiter.

Like any reflecting telescope, the National Geographic 76/700 is free from chromatic aberration and therefore objects are shown without spurious colors.
