National Geographic AZ 114/900 is a telescope with a reflection optical system, which uses the property of reflecting the light of mirrors. These mirrors are curved, so that light converges at a point called the focus.


In optimal atmospheric conditions, the 114 mm diameter primary mirror is able to clearly show some nebulae and galaxies, the fascinating rings of Saturn, the bands and areas of variable shades of Jupiter, as well as objects of the solar system. Thanks to the supplied accessories, it proves to be a very versatile and simple to use instrument thanks to the altazimuth mount with manual horizontal and vertical movements, which allows total freedom of action and does not require alignment on the celestial North Pole, an operation which requires a certain experience.

Included are the 6×30 finderscope for easy locating and centering celestial objects, 3 eyepieces at 4mm, 9mm and 25mm, 3x Barlow lens for even more magnification, and erect image with zoom factor. 1.5x multiplication for terrestrial vision. Like any reflecting telescope, the National Geographic 114/900 is free from chromatic aberration and therefore objects are shown without spurious colors.
